Working in Word 2008 Mac (PPC) under OS 10.5.8' Trying to insert a JPG photo into a table column. Column size is 5.38 wide by 8.25 high. If I size the image to that EXACT size, when inserted it leaves a small but noticeable white space down the entire 8,25 left margin of the column. Even if I size the image slightly larger, when inserted it leaves the same white space. This space does NOT appear/happen at vertical edges of the cell, only the horizontal edge.
In Word, there is a dedicated button in the ribbon to do this. It's surprising that you do not have it in OneNote, where it seems more appropriate. If it's any solace, this is not just a Office for Mac problem. I'm using Windows 10 and OneNote 2016. Not like Word, OneNote has not insert horizontal line feature. But, sometimes we need insert a horizontal line. Web page also can insert a horizontal line too. Gem Menu for Mac OneNote now provide Insert Horizontal Line feature for OneNote for Mac.
The image cannot be moved by selecting and micro moving with Opt Left Arrow. The space is not acceptable for final printing. What is happening here? I thought about trying to set the image as the Background for the cell but there seems to be no way to do that, and it has to be Inserted. Apparently, background fill for a cell can only be a texture or color, but not a JPG image.
